Momentous

Momentous

Charcoal pencil

10” X 7”

While pondering in search for a title for this gestural sketch, I happened upon an article by Kym Klass.  It began like this:

The moment itself is full of promise, of a hope not previously seen on the horizon.

It is a moment when, after months of struggle, you stand atop a hill and raise your

arms in victory, knowing the commitment it took to get there.

Kym Klass can be reached at 240-0144 or by email at kklass@gannett.com. Follow her at @kymklass on Twitter or at madvertiser blogs.com/livingwell

This gesture speaks to letting go of self to enter a moment of emotive presence.  I chose it for the cover page of my website because Momentous resonates with the feeling I feel as I, at long last, share my journey through my art.

It was captured during a rehearsal by The State Ballet of Rhode Island for the ballet, Pictures at an Exhibition
